SUFFRAGEDDON

One hundred years ago some British women won the vote. The journey to this landmark event is set to a revolutionary beat in SUFFRAGEDDON, the brand new hip-hop musical telling the story of Emmeline Pankhurst and the fight for women’s suffrage.

This Guilty Feminist production, commissioned by Deborah Frances-White, is the story of British women then, told by British women now (with no apologies to the wonderful Lin-Manuel Miranda because this isn’t a time to be apologising to men!).

This piece is an opportunity for women of colour to reframe a narrative which often excludes them and a chance for the world to see this story told through the revolutionary beats of hip-hop.

Already hailed as “Britain’s answer to musical sensation Hamilton” by The Sunday Times, Suffrageddon is in the early stages of development, with music & lyrics by Omahrose and Mark Hodge, and additional writing from RoxXxan and Oracy.
